Samsung Prepare Micro Shops for the Olympics

Samsung will be looking to capitalise on the footfall of Olympic Games punters with the creation of a series of small stores during the event. The all glass shelled enclosures will be the perfect opportunity for rich folks with disposable incomes to shell out £500 on a Galaxy S III or Note smartphone. There is no confirmation if there will be a UK network operator presence in the shop. They certainly look the part and you can see that Samsung are leaving no potential avenue of exposure unturned. Samsung Galaxy Note advert with David Beckham

Samsung hit the celebrity road with Galaxy Note

Samsung  have celebrity overdrive this week with the launch of the Olympic tie in editions for the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Y phones. Despite missing out on a Olympic tablet to Acer, they have managed to ensnare/entrap/pay David Beckham to use his kicking skills for the purposes of making music. The online advert for the Note is odd, but fun in a way. They are not going to attract geeks with it, but the common guy or gal might well be susceptible to it. I do take issue with the photo David takes Read more [...]

Samsung selling London 2012 version of the Galaxy Note and Y

Samsung will be making full use of its status as Partner to the London 2012 Olympics with the release of special edition variants of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Y Android phones. One such Note is already up for grabs online. The Note looks ok, but it is nothing more than a custom back cover. It appears noticeably shinier than the stock cover which has a rougher finish. No images of the Y are available but we would stay clear of it anyway. That is one Android to avoid… The special editions Read more [...]

Samsung rolling out Ice Cream Sandwich for the Galaxy Note in Germany

The Galaxy Note is finally getting an upgrade to Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich as of right now for European users. The Achilles heel of the Note is finally being addressed and fingers crossed it will be good enough not to flog the AndroidGenus device in favour of a HTC One X. On top of Google latest and greatest Android version, it will come with a “Premium Suite” of apps geared up for use with the increasingly maligned S-Pen. I say maligned because I see fewer and fewer uses for it, Read more [...]

Has the iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S 3 been outed by the Pingit ad?

I had to do a double take and pause the Sky+ last night when the Barclays PingIt advert came on last night. Reason being that the phone featured in the advert was puzzling. The advertising features a woman holding a the device in question as she sends money electrically to another phone. On first glimpse it appears to be an iPhone 4S complete with a white bumper. Looking at the menu bar the software also appears to be iOS with the time in the middle. But the physical construction of the phone is Read more [...]
