We have had reports that the bargain Android of 2012, the Huawei G300, may be unlocked as standard. Currently, Vodafone in the UK has the exclusivity on the handset, and is selling it on Pay As You Go for a meagre £100 plus top up. Usdially, PAYG phones are locked down tight, requiring some nefarious handiwork or a payment to the network to release it.
But we knoe of people who have the G300 who have taken it to be unlocked only to be told that it is not necessary. Case inpoint: a Tesco Mobile SIM works fine out of the box. Good news for bargain hunters then!
What of your experiences? Have you been able to use the G300 without unlocking it?
