Orange TVCheck headed to Android on general release for lazy Tweeters

Orange will be releasing their TVCheck app on Android and iOS later this year. The app is designed to let users easily share what they are watching with friends on Facebook and Twitter. Although I would query how useful this is.

According to 3G.co.uk, “the cleverest thing about the application is that in order to choose what you are watching you just point your smartphone’s camera at your TV”. It might be clever but it is also pointless. I fail to see how much faster it is when you would need to have the app running in order for it to be useful. Can’t we just use a Twitter app to share thoughts? And do you really need to share with the web whilst watching? How engrossing is a programme if people feel the need talk about it while it is on? Surely that is a distraction?

The application is stupid. And we will review it to stand to be proved wrong.
