National Rail Enquiries App for Android
National Rail Enquires have launched an official app for Android. What seems like a direct port form the iOS version, the app offers a wide range of services from journey planning and live departure and arrival times through to a nifty alert feature to let you know when your journey is due to start or end, or if there is an expected delay. Good for those that like to have a snooze en route.

There is a great little “Get Me Home” button, and a route map showing each stop on the journey. It ticks all the boxes – we cannot think of anything missing.
On the downside, the iOS port means that native Android menu functionality is not used, and the free version features adverts at the top of the screen. Normally this would not bother me, but considering the UK Tax Payer subsidises National Rail, this is a bit much. It seems to me that the paid for version is only there because there is an alternate app called UK Train Times on iOS which has had a hefty price tag of £4.99 on it previously.
That said, if you use British trains then this app is pretty much indispensable.
