Flipboard Released on Android
Since the Android version of Flipboard went into beta testing, I have found it has become a pretty indispensable application. I use it every day without fail as my main way of getting news, and increasingly communicating on Twitter. And the clever thing is that it does this by simply pulling through the source content of a tweet or web page.
Tweets that contain pictures, for example, will have the image as the backgorund to the text of the tweet. If there are embedded images in a news item, these can be used for other stories. They say a picture speaks a thousadn words, and that is the premise of Flipboard.
This is all packaged up in a neat little application that flips between each story that is striking, but not overly complicated. Too many news apps are bloated with effects and I just prefer a simpler approach.
Flipboard can connect to twelve social networks, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and most recently Google+. And of course you can comment and share within the app to these networks to your hearts content.
Get Flipboard for Free from Google Play now and requires Android 2.2+.
