Huawei are one of the biggest telecommunications equipment companies in the world. They are huge in China although their kit is used the world over. Chances are if you are a BT Broadband customer you are using modems build by them. Huawei make no bones about their desire to become one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world, and a couple of years ago they started their assault on the European market. I reviewed the G300 and found it to be a stunning budget range phone. The Huawei Read more [...]
Google have gone Easter bonkers with a range of Easter Deals for the annual holiday. Funnily enough there is no deal on The Passion of the Christ (mainly because it is unavailable on Google Movies) but there are family favourites such as Matilda, The Muppets Take Manhattan and the Easter themed Hop naturally. There’s also Dodgeball and The Breakfast Club. No, I am not telling you fibs: the curators at Google so seem inclined to think that movies with phrases such as “c*ck flavoured Read more [...]

People do damn odd things with their advanced super mega smart phones. Why?
Amazon have this week started a price war with both Google and Apple over their new range of Kindle Fire tablets. The three new models will be available in the UK for the first time, and are priced compellingly, starting at just £129 for the basic model, and undercutting Google on storage space by offering 16GB devices at the same price as the 8GB Nexus 7. Amazon’s baulchy approach is clearly visible in their sales blurb. It is disingenuous to say the Fire HD is the most advanced 7 inch Read more [...]
When I first took out my shiny Samsung Galaxy S I uttered a little chortle. I put it next to my iPod Touch and thought that someone had been at the photocopier. There is no mistaking that the original Samsung Galaxy S was strikingly similar to the iPhone 3G. It is pretty blatant. So why would I buy something which is a ‘copy cat’? Well, I did not want an iPhone, and I did want the best Android on the market, which the Galaxy S was. But there were many design elements that I found unappealing. TouchWiz Read more [...]
